Quiet Fire is the project of songwriter/producer Joachim Staudt. Having started to play the piano at the age of six, music has been an important aspect of his life ever since. At the age of twelve, he began to play the saxophone and soon after joined various jazz-, funk- and popbands. Later, he studied music at the Amsterdam Conservatory. While studying there, he got his first synthesizers and samplers, which was love at first sight. That’s when he started producing electronic music.
While living in Amsterdam, he met singer/songwriter Hartog Eysman. They played together in the nusoul band Flowriders and stayed in contact since then. Hartog Eysman is the featured vocalist on the album „A Deeper Shade Of Bright“.
Besides producing electronic music, Joachim Staudt also works as a saxophone player. As a sideman, he has played, amongst others, with Eddie Martinez, Dublex Inc., Flowriders and Peter Herbolzheimer. He has performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the North Sea Jazz Festival, played concerts all over Germany, in Switzerland, Austria, the Netherlands, USA and Russia and is leading his own jazz quartet.
